Chelas who would like to replace the love of the Lower Self with the love of the Higher Self. There is a story in Greek legend about a beautiful boy who stared into his reflection in a pool and fell in love with the image. As he languished in the love of the Lower Self, he was transformed into a narcissus and is remembered to this day by that name.
Sometimes humanity abusing the gift of free will will will discover that in the grace of law their energies, revolving through nature, are balanced by the elemental realm while plant and animal life take on the burden of humanity's karma. Thus through the fires of transmutation and through the sacrifice of lower evolution for the higher, all life evolves Godward toward the center of the Divine Ego which ultimately displaces all egocentrism in the understanding of the worship of self as the great God-Self.
The worship of the lower self is unlawful. The worship of the Higher Self is legitimate. Therefore, in the evolution of humanity, those who have allowed themselves to become attached to form and form consciousness have always discovered that their love is linear, following the finite line that has a beginning and an end. Gradually these learn the lesson that every ascended master has learned, that love is spherical and that true love is a whirling sun in the heart.
True love fulfills both human need and divine need. True love can be experienced only when the completeness of the Higher Self is reflected in the pool of the soul. Thus beholding the Great Spirit, the great reality of self, man and woman fall in love with the image of God and are consumed by it.
In God's relationships with God as experienced in life on earth, God gives humanity a sip from the communion cup of love that only he can give.
Hierarchy comes to shorten the days of trial for all who have caught the vision of purpose. As it passes through the realms of Mater with the momentum and propulsive force of the great arm of life, the soul achieves the mark of love and transcends all lower images of self.
Hierarchy comes to save the devotees from the shipwreck of a mortal existence limited to and confined to mortality, possessed by and lower selves, possessing forms of idolatry and forms of the idolatrous generation.
The mark of the fish adopted by the early Christians is not only the mark of the Pisces conqueror who overcomes the emotions of a planet through the waters of the Word, but it is the mark of those who have the twin arcs of Alpha and Omega have made, rinse in the caduceus Of the divine polarity. And the dot of the eye is the infinite point where you are.
To souls floating on the sea of life, we send a line. It is a lifeline that must be seized with confidence; for without confidence, the doubts and fears of the lower self, with all its anxiety and frustration, overwhelm the soul seeking reunion with the Spirit of the living God. It is a choice to be led, that it might one day lead.
The ascended masters do not force their chelas, they let their chelas force them - magnetize them - and thereby they magnetize themselves to the higher law of their own being. There is a certain friction that is necessary for all achievements on the path. There are inconveniences to bear and perhaps incongruities if you find that sometimes you are not aligned with the lever of the law. Chelas must be willing to make an effort.
We write our Pearls of Wisdom from engrams of light, from matrices of Spirit. Paragraph by paragraph envelops the sacred formula of self being. Man must decipher the formula of life and living. He must investigate. He must read and reread. He must invoke the Holy Spirit in whose flame is found the interpretation of the living Word and the multiplication of the loaves and fishes.
We demand that the mind of the chela conform to the mind of God. Therefore, our method in presenting the law is often to the brief rendering of a dialogue of the Zen masters.
Our courses of instruction are not presented as a one-two-three, do-it-yourself success formula. We do not promise to do for our chelas what they should do for themselves.
Ah yes, our scriptures contain the sacred formula; but for the formula to crystallize in the mind of the chela, there is a requirement. That requirement is the input of the chela - the soul ingredient. The chela must blend into the momentum of its own individualized God flame. Our discourses are distillates of the Spirit. BY God, you are the Incarnate Word.
Through the alchemy of the master and the chela, through the fusion of selfhood as above so below, there emerges from the printed page and from the spoken Word a definition of concepts and the sacred formula unique to each individual, even while affirming the universal law of the elements. This interaction occurs every time the chela brings the flow of selfhood, of experience gained as it moves through time and space, to the instruction of the ascended masters.
So the association of the chela with the master is unique in each case. For each stream of life there is a special unity of its own, and each encounter is a special moment in eternity when time is not and space is consumed. These experiences with the ascended masters come day by day for those who wish to leave behind the patterns of the lower self and merge with the solar consciousness of the Higher Self.
Then let us all rise to the challenge of finding the pearl of great value locked up in every Pearl of Wisdom. Let them think twice before casting aside the opportunity to come into union with the Spirit of the living God.
The opportunity is to seize the thread of the moment and make it a living gem.
In this era, the ascended masters cast the pearl of their identity, sealed in God, into the great sea of humanity, so that humanity would find its own individuality and their souls were entrusted to God in the same way.
