Regarding finding a higher love, twin flames, soulmates and karmic relationships are all on a quest for love and the perfection relationship - a quest for wholeness.

There are three types of romantic relationships that move people forward toward wholeness: twin flames, soulmates and karmic relationships.

Twin Flames

Twin flames were created together in the beginning and share a unique destiny. Created in a common egg-shaped fire core, they were separated into two spheres of being - a masculine polarity and a feminine polarity - but both with the same pattern of divine identity. Although they spent some periods of life together and others separated, their connection is eternal, and after they both unite with their Higher Self, they will sail to heaven and be together forever. But not all wonderful and fulfilling soul loves are like those of twin flames.

Soulmates

A connection with a soulmate is different from that of a twin flame. While we all have one twin flame, we can have multiple soulmates.

Soulmates share a common mission and similar stage of spiritual development. They come together because they are working on the same kind of karma and the same kind of chakras. Soulmates thus have an attraction that is based on the sacred work and the path of self-mastery. These spiritual relationships very often seem harmonious and fulfilling, and such kindred souls can achieve great things together.

Karmic relationships

Then there are karmic relationships where two individuals are attracted to each other for the settlement of common karma. The karmic connection can be the tightest of all, and start with the strongest attraction. This is because the soul has a deep desire to be free, and has an inner knowing that this connection is a key to resolution through the settling of karma that is often harsh, such as violence, hatred, abandonment or even murder.

Being alone

From time to time there is a sense of emptiness, and a loneliness which reveals the inadequacy of a relationship based on karma. Though often complicated, these relationships are important in achieving self-mastery on the spiritual path. Love is the key. Everyone experiences all three forms of relationship throughout all lives. The key to wholeness in all these spiritual relationships is to love each soul.
