What alchemy can do for a decaying world

The moon controls the dark side of life and is the smaller light, the reflected light of the solar energy of God. In this state of reflection, it can exert a tremendous influence on the tides and the water element. Luna, the moon, the great orbiting satellite that rules the night, therefore partly controls man's emotional body and can easily become his greatest enemy or his best friend. For when used in the best way, the energies of the moon, (placed under the feet), can help him achieve alchemical mastery over his energy, (his "energy in motions"). Let us see why this is so.

People continue to be victims

The moon reflects the astral body of the earth. When we work with the moon, we work with the reflecting light of the sun. When the astral body is under the control of the Christ, her power becomes limitless. When its purified energies are further multiplied by the moon, which is nothing but a great reflector, its power is multiplied to almost endless proportions. But until the mass consciousness governed by the light of the sun instead of the night, the moon will reflect the astral emanations of the planet. Thus, people will continue to be victims of their own hideous wrong creations; and this effect is even stronger during the full moon.

Purified consciousness alchemist

Now the alchemist uses his purified consciousness as a reflector of solar energies as the moon reflects the light of the sun, The waters of his thinking reflect the light of day and of night, as the waters of the sea reflect both the golden path of the sun and the moon. But the Christ Consciousness, the prism of purity as the "sea of glass" filters out the impurities of the moon as it refracts the light of the sun.

Process of transmutation

Since all energy is God's energy, the energies misused by humans (returned by the moon to where they came from, in accordance with karmic law) can be freed from the hindrances of the carnal mind through the process of transmutation. They can then be used, as the Great Alchemist that does, create perfect works of art until the patterns in the sky transform those of the earth and the moon becomes a sphere of purified power.

Disturbed emotions

Most of you know only too well that when your emotions are disturbed by external states, feelings or ideas, there comes a time when you are still just able to maintain control over your emotional body. After that, when these energies are allowed to rage on uninhibited, that control is lost and people easily come to do, think or say things that they will one day regret.

Serving one's fellow man

In contrast, most of you know great joy and peace that come over your soul when you have been able to do something for another. This is because deep within you dwells a loving desire to serve your fellow man. This desire is what led the Christ, the son of David, to come down as the Messiah. The shepherd-king, a man after God's heart, communicated with God and prepared himself for greater service as he herded his sheep. Nowhere was the splendor of his soul greater than in the beauty of his meditations on the Spirit of the Lord, rendered in the book of Psalms.

Tired businessman and frustrated mother

One of the best ways that the weary businessman or manager, the frustrated mother or housewife, the confused young man or woman, can find integration and wholeness for themselves is to develop the ability to let their emotions do for them exactly what they want. Such discipline can completely change their outlook on life, for they will then face life with joyful expectations, not with unsatisfaction.

Willingness to give

For example, when it is love for one another that you wish to express, you must always guard against selfish love, which would demand from the beloved the expectations of your own mind and heart without ever understanding the willingness to give that is the characteristic of love. To love as God loves, you must first give freedom to all parts of life, yourself included. Then you must place your trust, like a young bird in the nest, on the heart of God, the heart of goodness and mercy.

Low-brow emotions

When you have given everything, you will receive the most joyful, eternal gifts from God that you could imagine-and even some that you cannot imagine. These will come not only through the chalice of your own heart, but also through the hearts of your comrades. If you would truly love, you must learn to master the low-down emotions of selfishness, envy, jealousy, resentment, stubbornness and ingratitude.

Managing emotions

We urge you then, at this stage of our study in alchemy, to consider learning the mastery of emotions. Emotions play an important role in the operation of the creative Cloud in which we engage and from which we function. The only way to be truly happy is to give ourselves wholly to the universe and to God, while at the same time being aware of, and also expecting and receiving from God, the gift of our Real Self.
