Spiritual protection

An effective technique that helps guard the heart is meditating on, and invoking, the protective white light. In his letters, the apostle Paul advised us, "Clothe yourselves with the whole armor of God" and "the weapons of light. The saints and mystics of all world religions have seen the white light in their meditations and prayers.

The white light can help you stay centered and at peace. It can keep you from negative energies that may be directed at you through someone's anger, condemnation, hatred or jealousy. ΄Imagine that you are light‖ is the formula of a thirteenth-century cabbalist. 'Everything that one firmly imbibes becomes the essential thing. So when you pray and offer a blessing to God, or when you want your intention to be pure, imagine that you are light. All around you - in every corner and on every side - is light.

Turn to your right, and you will find radiant light; to your left, splendor, a brilliant light. In between, above it, the light of the Presence. Around it, the light of life. Above all this a crown of light - crowning the aspirations of thought, illuminating the paths of imagination, spreading the radiance of vision. This light is unfathomable and endless.'

To strengthen your spiritual protection, meditate on the white light.

You can invoke the protective white light with the following "Tube of Light" affirmation (see below). The tube of light is a shield of energy that descends from God through your Higher Self in response to your invocation. It is best to give this affirmation every morning before the daily hustle begins, preferably giving it three times. If you feel jaded, exhausted or vulnerable during the day, withdraw for a few minutes and repeat this affirmation.

As you say these words, see yourself as depicted in the Schema of your Divine Self (see image). Your Higher Self is right above you. Above your Higher Self is your I AM Presence, the presence of God within you.

See and feel a cascade of dazzling white light, more brilliant than the sun shining on newly fallen snow, falling down from your I AM Presence and enveloping you. See how it merges and forms an impenetrable wall of light.

Within that sparkling aura of white light, you see yourself surrounded by the violet fire of the Holy Spirit, the high-frequency spiritual energy that transforms negativity (of yourself or another) into positive and loving energy. When you give this prayer aloud, you affirm that God and the power of God in you are in charge of your family, your relationships, your work, your world.
