What you are or are not, you have earned - the good, the bad and the nasty. That is the nature of karma. What you are or are not, you can change. This is also the nature of karma. This is because karma is not fate. Karma can help us understand how we got where we are today - our life circumstances, the events going on around us and the people we seem to attract.
It does not tell us how we will react to those circumstances, events and persons. That is entirely up to ourselves and that determines our destiny. We used our free will to create karma. We can use our free will to transform it.
The only limits to our progress are those we have placed on ourselves. If our karma dictates premature death then it is possible, for example, to earn an extension of our life through a change of heart.
If we serve life with all our heart, life will give us something in return. Nothing is fixed until we make it final, and nothing is predestined until we make it our destiny.
Karma is of great significance, but of greater importance is choice.
Karma is only the condition of choice.
