The command, "Man, know thyself," must be applied by you to the pure truth of being and not to human concepts of what that truth is. However, it is dangerous to be critical of others or of his concepts; for only the individual can see through the screen of his own being and understand his world and the cosmos behind it.
When you realize the meaning of interpreting life for yourself, you will see how utterly impossible it is for you to do this for another person, since the average person cannot successfully step into the consciousness of another life stream nor accurately access their complete thought and feeling processes.
This, by the grace of God, we are able to do; and the Karmic Council, in connection with the universal Christ Himself of all mankind, is able to mediate. We doubt, however, unless there is a mighty appeal, to interfere with individual karma. Yet foolish humanity often rushes to decide how another individual should live or think. I trust that students of this activity will realize more and more how helpful they can become to others by holding the immaculate concept for each person's life plan and then leaving the guidance to their Higher Self.
I have observed well over the centuries the importance of the service of ordered prayer. The daily offering of supplications has saved the lives of millions, and prolonged the lives of another million, and blessed life without limitation.
Prayers open the door for God's intervention in human affairs. It provides a passage whereby the Ascended Masters and cosmic beings who desire to serve planet earth and its evolutions, to walk within the folds of universal justice and offer special guidance because they are asked to do so. For the law proclaims that the heavenly hosts must be requested by some among humanity and invited to intervene before they have permission to intercede on behalf of humanity.
Would man ultimately retain his free will if heaven thwarted the obtaining of every excessive desire? And yet; can the guardians of the race who can perceive the errors of man's actions fail to seek guidance on behalf of their misguided brethren from above from the higher intelligence of God to cut life free from the crystallized effects of their erroneous concepts?
For the alchemist, the value of prayer is multifaceted. In addition to the benefits mentioned here, it provides an impetus to increase one's values as well as further the goal of divine truth when the mental cast is in the process of coming into physical manifestation.
