Before conception, the parents of each child - whether they were aware of it or not - inwardly agreed to accept that soul. Or, if they did not consent to this, they were made to understand that receiving this being is necessary to settle a certain karma.
Some parents do not want to face this responsibility (just as there are people who do not want to pay off their debts). Often this happens because their parents, teachers, pastors, pastors and rabbis did not know about life cycles and karma and were unable to teach that which they did not know about. They did not teach them that if they do not carry out their calling to bear life, they are in a sense aborting their own life plan and its cycles.
So, if they go against the command to receive a child and do not take the opportunity to settle karma with that child, parents may place themselves in even more difficult circumstances. At some time and place, they may have to carry that child anyway. And, because they have not balanced that karma, they may find that their own life cycles have gone off the right path and that they cannot continue with their own divine plan. Their own spiritual progress may be limited or even cease altogether. By refusing life, their own life plan may be denied them. And then it may be very difficult to get back to the place where the same two people will be together, and that same soul will again be available and receive God's blessing to come into incarnation. Karmic ties are often binding until they are resolved, and sometimes karmic ties may require a couple to come back into incarnation to have a child born who had been denied this opportunity.
Therefore, it is wise to respect the opportunity God gives us to have children born. We can rejoice in the opportunity to give life to those from whom we may once, and in a different place, have taken life. This gives great joy and is one of the purposes of marriage: to produce children who can go on with their mission, just as we are enabled by them to fulfill our mission.
It is often our first children to whom we owe a karmic debt. Later, parents who have already had children and have balanced the karma they had to do in this way can be given the opportunity to bring forth other children with whom they have no negative karma. These can be very gifted children who can make a great contribution to the community because they bring with them their knowledge and abilities from a past life.
