Among masters I am known as a pragmatist in the truest sense of the word, for I deal with practical matters and with the demands of the hour. Humanity faces a dilemma. It is a dilemma of self, society and civilization. The Darjeeling Council seeks answers to the dilemma. We explore the mind of God, and then we explore the mind of man. We are interested in what will work - not about an air-raid philosophy. We are interested in what will work now to stem the tide of world karma and the degradation of both the image of the Christ and the image of the Divine Mother.
Chelas who knock on the door at Darjeeling are asked if they understand the urgency of world affairs and the urgent need of the hour. If they have not yet acquired that perspective, we advise them to seek the disciplines of another retreat. For here at Darjeeling we offer a steam program in chelaship and initiation on the path for those who are willing to implicitly follow the demands of their own Christ Self and respond with a flame that sparks and with eyes that twinkle with the burning fire of soul discernment.
We send devotees of the Divine Mother. We are training emissaries who will represent the Brotherhood and who will go to the great cities of the world to teach the way of self-sacrifice, like St. Francis of old, to the greater glory of the Christ in all.
May I play for you from Moore's Irish Melodies, a song from my heart that I composed long ago for a loved one. I dedicate it now to all chelas of the sacred fire who are preparing for that transmutation and leaving the outer, fading form of the inner, ever-blossoming sunflower of the heart: "Believe me, when all those endearing young creatures enchant." For the heart that truly loves God never forgets the recurring flow of that love reflected from the source of life.
Now, chelas of the will of God who would wish to become chelas of the ascended masters, with the tenderness of the heart of the will of God, I draw you into the folds of the garment of that will so that you might see that the crystal lining of the sapphire blue is dotted with a golden pink hue - an intense love of the wisdom of God that inspires the Darjeeling masters to crack the whip of discipline. So great is our love for the soul of God in man that we would leave you free to behold your immortal destiny.
Some come to our retreat for training, but their motives are not pure. They are selfish. They want power not to glory in God, but because of the vanity of the synthetic self that they refuse to give up. They are politely told by the Gatekeeper that those who enter must leave the slippers of the lesser self at the door. Those who are not willing to take off the shoes of the overshadowed self are not allowed to walk on this sacred ground.
To understand your path, your very personal path to salvation, you must have the perspective of your past and how you created the present - both on a personal and planetary level.
Then come; and let us see how, in the magic of the flame, we will discover the designs of your soul destiny.
